Here's the finished speaker atop its stand. The pair sit one each side of my HDTV. As a first attempt I'm quite pleased with the sound. They're distortion free up to house shaking volumes & the ports pump out bass that you can really feel. That being said, compared to most home theater speakers they seem to lack energy or punch. I'm not sure exactly what the problem is but as a first attempt & a great learning experience I'm happy.
I suppose the crossover could use some further tweaking & that maybe the root of the problem described above but to tell you the truth, I'm probably not going to mess with it. For the most part these speakers kick butt just the way they are. If you'd like to build a set of these, here's their plans. Please note that this design is not to be sold or used for commercial use.
